Help more people experience protected water quietly, and put rental revenue toward stewardship.

Why it works for land trusts and preserves

Kayaks and paddleboards are about as low impact as recreation gets: no motors, no noise, no fuel. For land trusts and preserves with calm water, they're a natural way to let people experience the places you protect up close, from a quiet cove to a slow-moving creek.

Many organizations want to offer that access but don't have staff to run rentals or a budget for equipment. A Launch Lockers rack runs without anyone on site, and we handle the gear and the renters. You decide where the rack goes and when rentals run, so access fits your management plan.

Every rental also brings in revenue, and your share can support trail upkeep, habitat work, or education programs.

Flexible partnership options

Choose the setup that fits your budget. We're flexible, and every option keeps the day-to-day work off your plate.

  • Flexible

    Custom arrangement

Want to cover part of the equipment cost for a larger share, start with a one-season pilot, or set seasonal terms? We'll build an arrangement around your budget and goals.

    • Terms built around your budget
    • Pilot-friendly
  • Larger share

    Own the equipment

Purchase the racks and gear yourself and keep a larger share of rental revenue. We still run everything renters touch: booking, payments, waivers, and support, for a small ongoing platform fee.

How a pilot works

We're choosing our first partners now. Here's what getting started looks like.

  1. Talk it through

Tell us about your property and goals. We'll look at where a rack fits and which arrangement makes sense.

  2. Agree on terms

Zero-cost, custom, or owning the equipment. We'll put it in a simple written agreement.

  3. Install and stock

We set up the rack, signage, and gear. Renters can book from day one.

  4. Review together

After the pilot, we look at how it went with you and decide what's next.

Questions we hear

Can we set rules for where people paddle?

You choose the rack location and rental hours, and your site rules and boundaries can be posted at the rack.

Is there a cost to the organization?

Not on a zero-cost deployment. We cover the equipment, and a portion of rental revenue is shared with you.

What does a rack cost a property?

It depends on the arrangement. On a zero-cost deployment, we pay for the rack and gear, and a small portion of rental revenue is shared with you. You can also purchase the equipment to keep a larger share, with a small ongoing platform fee, or set up something in between.

Talk to us about a pilot

Tell us a bit about your property and we'll follow up to talk through fit, placement, and terms. No commitment.
