Self-serve kayak and paddleboard rentals for parks and public lands

Give residents and visitors a simple way onto the water without adding seasonal staff, an equipment budget, or another program to manage.

Why it works for parks and public lands

Parks departments are asked to do more with the same budget. Paddle rentals are popular, but running them means hiring and training seasonal staff, buying and storing a fleet, handling payments and waivers, and repairing gear every year. For a lot of parks, that cost is why rentals never get started, or why they only run on summer weekends.

A Launch Lockers rack works without anyone on site. Visitors scan a code at the rack, pay and sign a waiver on their phone, and unlock a board or kayak. We install the rack, keep it stocked, keep the gear clean and in good repair, and answer renter questions. Your staff doesn't take payments, check people in, or chase down missing paddles.

Already run a rental program? A rack doesn't have to replace it. It can cover the hours and days your staffed program doesn't, absorb quick walk-up rentals, or serve a second launch site, so your team can spend its time on guided paddles, camps, and events.

How a pilot works

We're choosing our first partners now. Here's what getting started looks like.

  1. Talk it through

Tell us about your property and goals. We'll look at where a rack fits and which arrangement makes sense.

  2. Agree on terms

Zero-cost, custom, or owning the equipment. We'll put it in a simple written agreement.

  3. Install and stock

We set up the rack, signage, and gear. Renters can book from day one.

  4. Review together

After the pilot, we look at how it went with you and decide what's next.

Questions we hear

Does this replace our existing rental program?

It doesn't have to. A rack can run alongside a staffed program, covering extra hours, walk-up demand, or additional launch sites while your staff focus on lessons, group trips, and events.

Who maintains the equipment?

We do. We inspect, clean, repair, and replace the boards, kayaks, paddles, and life jackets at every rack.

Can we control hours and seasons?

Yes. Rentals run only during the hours and seasons you choose, and the gear stays locked the rest of the time.

What does a rack cost a property?

It depends on the arrangement. On a zero-cost deployment, we pay for the rack and gear, and a small portion of rental revenue is shared with you. You can also purchase the equipment to keep a larger share, with a small ongoing platform fee, or set up something in between.
